Why We’re Starting A Business In A Terrible Economy – VidTarget
BEFORE YOU BEGIN, KNOW THIS:
YouTube is the second largest search engine after Google.
YouTube ads are on the Google ads platform, just in a different section.
People are going onto YouTube and doing tons of searches for solutions to their problems.
You’re going to pay less to get a view of your YouTube video ad than you’re going to pay for a click to your website from Google Ads.
You can use these keywords to target both In-display ads, which can appear in search or in the suggested videos area, or In-stream ads, also known as pre-roll ads.
VidTarget provides you with narrowly-targeted lists that you take and upload to your YouTube Ads account.
Go to the VidTarget Dashboard or Search For Targets
Click on the Keywords button
Enter a word or phrase you think people would be searching on and enter it into search.
Click the search icon (magnifying glass).
The results show:
a. Related keyword phrases search volume. This number comes from Google, not YouTube, but the more popular phrases on Google will also tend to be more popular on YouTube.
b. Cost per click on Google.
c. How much competition there is for this keyword.
d. A link to find out how the phrase is trending on Google Trends.
Click the checkbox or tickbox next to the term that best fits the viewers who will appreciate your video ad the most.
If you think multiple terms belong in the same group, add them, too.
Go to the “Actions” dropdown menu and “Add to New List,”
then “Save To Keyword List,” name your list, then select whether you want to save as “Broad Match,” “Phrase Match,” or “Exact Match” and click “Save.” Or,
Go to the “Actions” dropdown menu and “Add to Existing List,”
then “Save To Keyword List,” then select the existing list you would like to add to, whether you want to save as “Broad Match,” “Phrase Match,” or “Exact Match” and click “Save.”
To view the list, click “Keyword Lists” in the navigation. Click here to see how to manage keyword lists.
You can make one big list, but sometimes it’s better to break out your results into smaller results and test one against another to see which one works best.
This keyword tool is also a great list of popular topics you might consider making organic videos about that you upload to YouTube but don’t turn into ads.
People are searching for these topics, so why not make some videos that answer these questions?
It’s possible people will watch the videos, find you’re a helpful, knowledgeable person, and decide to do business with you.
And now you know how to find the most helpful keywords for your YouTube ads using VidTarget’s Keyword tool.
